Millions have already died, and thousands more are perishing daily. As a last ditch effort to preserve the human race, the government implements Project ELE. With the earth heating at rapid speeds, all remaining survivors are forced to turn to F.E.M.A. shelters to wait out ELE's wrath.
Fifteen-year-old Willow Mosby's life, as she knows it, ends the moment she walks through the shelter's door. Willow has to quickly adapt to the new challenges that shelter life demands, the least of which includes making new friends and working a full time job.
Soon after making an interesting discovery, Willow and her friends start exhibiting strange abilities. Seeking answers, they embark on a mission to find out what these new abilities mean and whether they are a gift or a curse.
This new adventure can send her world crashing down around her. The question is: Can Willow survive the fall?
Now on to my Review
As a self-published author myself I recognize that without the backing of a major publishing house it is hard to afford the luxuries those author’s receive; like an amazing cover designer, an editor and well . . . financial backing. Don’t get me wrong those authors work hard and they deserve it. But you often spend a lot more money on their books then you do on an indie author’s book so while all these other reviews are harsh (I’m talking about the amazon reviews) I actually really enjoyed this book. (I like the cover too)
Let me start the actual review by saying that I don’t generally read these kinds of books, but I recently connected with a blogger who has recommended a few books lately that I have found completely out of my genre and yet I loved them.
This book is perfect for all ages really. I generally prefer the more adult side of Romances. Yes if look at my reviews I am a sucker for a good vamp novel ;) anyways continuing, this book is so interesting and I have to admit that I finished it only a few minutes ago I’m writing this review and I’ve purchased the second book because I have to know what happens!
I won’t say a whole lot because I truly believe if you like the apocalyptic style novels you will enjoy this one. The human race is succumbing to a virus, F.E.M.A steps in there’s a whole separation of those who carry the virus and those whose blood is clean. The story follows a teenage girl and her friends as they try to rebuild their lives in a new place—i.e the shelter. Ok I really won’t say anymore there are twist in the plot I did not see coming and at the end some things click while others open up all new questions. I can’t wait to get started on the second book.
On a side note if by some chance the authors read this, all I want to say is the book was so good, I hope that the negativity other put out there never deters you from this series or any other writings! Bravo.
